The Nominating Committee is pleased to present the following persons who have agreed to stand for election for Vestry and Parish Council. The election will take place during the 103rd Annual Parish Meeting, Sunday 18 May at 10 a.m.
 
VESTRY
Greg Bradley resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife, Cathy Bissoon, and their children, Maya and Aidan. He has been an active member of Calvary since 2003 and has taught in Calvary's Sunday School for the last three years. Greg is a patent attorney and has served for the last 11 years as Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for MEDRAD, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based medical devices company. An avid skier, Greg is active with his children in the YMCA's Y-Princesses and Y-Guides programs.
 
John Buckman, an active member of Calvary since 1989, is currently on the Vestry filling an unexpired term, and is eligible for re-election. He and his wife Ann, residents of Squirrel Hill, have three daughters, Abbie, Audrey and Lucy. John is vice president for marketing and government relations for Health Monitoring Systems, which specializes in health care data management. A former journalist, he grew up in Sewickley, and has been involved in numerous community and professional groups, including board membership at the Software and Information Industry Association.
 
Mark Rust returned to Pittsburgh in 2006 after 16 years in Baltimore, where he worked in the Corporate Finance group at Ferris, Baker Watts, a regional investment banking firm. While there, he attended the Cathedral of the Incarnation, where he served as a youth worker, and a member of its chapter, its finance committee, and its Habitat for Humanity affiliate. He is currently a principal with Montgomery & Rust, Inc., a residential design/build firm. A member of the board of the Pittsburgh Habitat for Humanity, he resides in Squirrel Hill with his wife, Michelle and his daughters Rebecca and Hannah.
 
Susan Shafer, her husband, Richard and their son, Chuck, transferred from St. Paul's Akron, OH to Calvary in 2002, and have all been actively involved in the music program. Susan worked as a teacher and reading specialist in the U.S. and Germany for eight years, and now pursues a full-time career in classical music, primarily opera and oratorio. She also appears periodically in concerts and recitals. When not singing, Susan can be found working in her garden. The Shafers, who have been active for 32 years in virtually every aspect of church life in parishes in New Jersey, Texas and Ohio, make their home in New Wilmington.
 
PARISH COUNCIL
 
Catherine Davidson lives in Regent Square with her husband Steven Sharratt, and their daughter Diane. She works as a writer for Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently serving an unexpired term on the Parish Council, and is eligible for re-election. She is secretary of the Parish Council, and an active member of the Architectural History Committee. She finds her involvement in the Centering Prayer Group a source of spirituality and comfort.
 
John Faber moved to Pittsburgh from New York City in 1993, and is currently the principal investigator of Decisions or Life, an HIV prevention and intervention program for young people at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. A former member of the Church of the Redeemer in Squirrel Hill, where he served on the Vestry, John has been active at Calvary as a lector. He is passionate about Calvary's efforts to uphold the mission of the Episcopal Church. John and his partner Chris live in Highland Park.
 
Lyn Orr is a lifelong member of Calvary Church. A geriatric Social Worker, she has worked in nursing homes in this capacity for the past 17 years. She was a member of the choir for 18 years, and more recently of the Newcomers Network. Committed to a ministry of hospitality, she is currently a member of the Welcome! Committee and serves as an usher. A resident of Aspinwall, she cherishes the opportunities she has to spend with her three sons who live out of town, and her sister and brother who are closer to home.
