After years of living illegally on public land, war veteran Will (suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and his daughter Tom find their way back into society. Set outside Portland, OR, this film is a coming of age drama which also tells the plight of America's mistreatment of veterans. Forced into Portland, Tom realizes that what is broken in her father is NOT broken in her. She witnesses friendship and community that extend the care she learned in the small circle of her father's love. This is NOT a political movie. There are no easy solutions to the systems that fail Will and Tom. We each have a lot to learn from Will and Tom's journey in and out of the woods.
