The nursery is available for children through age three during the Christian Education hour, 10–11 a.m., and through age 4 during the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. We are staffed by experienced caregivers and have a pager system that will notify you if you need to return to the nursery. The nursery is located on Level A. Look for the signs directing you to the room.
All children are welcome to attend Sunday school classes at 10 a.m. Newcomers and visitors are asked to fill out a registration card when they come to the classroom – no previous registration or church attendance is necessary.
All classes use a lectionary-based curriculum, Living the Good News, as a guide. This program uses the same readings for each Sunday that are used in church at Calvary and around the world, connecting what we hear in church to what we discuss and do in Sunday school. More information about this curriculum is available online.
The older grades incorporate other resources and service projects to deepen the conversation and connect what we say and do in church to daily life.”
There is a sign in the main lobby with classroom locations, and directions are posted throughout the building.
We meet in five groups:
- Preschool (age 3–Kindergarten) — classroom on Level A
- Lower School (1st–4th grade) — classroom on Level A
- Middle School (5th–7th grade) — Conference Room
- Confirmation Class (8th & 9th grade)— Shoemaker Room
- High School (10th–12th grade)— Youth Room in McClintic Hall
Youth Confirmation classes
Calvary holds a Confirmation class for youth in grades 8 and 9 every other year to prepare for Confirmation in the spring. The class meets each Sunday during the Christian Formation hour, 10–11 a.m.
